Why Did I Wait So Long?

After patients start care and lose their pain they ask "why did I wait so long?" The question I get asked repeatedly in practice is always the same, "why did I wait so long?" I suppose the answer is, fear of the unknown. That's why people wait and hesitate to get care. I'll address the most common fears people have about visiting a doctor of chiropractic, like:

  • Is it safe?
  • How much is it going to cost?
  • Will it work for me?

I'll answer these questions so that you can get well and stay well naturally.

Maybe you're skeptical. Maybe you're in pain. Maybe you've been everywhere else and tried everything else and you're still hurting. Maybe you just want to stay healthy. Maybe you don't like to be sick. Read this article and learn about program that addresses why people get sick and what to do about it.

Q. People want to know if chiropractors are "real doctors."
A. Emphatically yes! I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University. I attended five additional academic years to become a doctor of chiropractic. I completed a clinical internship in the famed Patient Research Center near Chicago, Illinois. I passed a state licensing examination that was written, oral and practical. People are always surprised to learn that I have more hours in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and neurology than ordinary doctors. I have many more hours of training in nutrition than a medical doctor. Yes, I am a "real doctor", a doctor of chiropractic.

Make no mistake I don't believe a person is truly educated, till he learns how little he knows. Practice can be humbling. Working with patients is where real education begins for any doctor. I've worked in private practice for nearly 30 years. I've helped 1,000's and 1,000's of people.

Q. Is Chiropractic Safe?
A. Chiropractic is one of the safest healing arts. People are always surprised how gentle chiropractic is. Your chances of being hurt in a chiropractic office are less than one in a million.

Every year 100,000 people die from prescription medication. 1,500,000 people will be injured from drugs so badly this year that they will require hospitalization.

By comparison what I do is very, very, very, safe.

Q. Will I need surgery?
A. According to the New England Journal of Medicine, surgery is done far too frequently in the United States. Our methods are so effective I can't remember the last time I had to refer someone for surgery. My patients almost always do much, much better.

Q. Is chiropractic safe after surgery, even spinal surgery?
A. I love these cases. Often times after surgery, people will suffer extreme pain. They come to my center afraid they might have to live the rest of their lives feeling miserable.
Sometimes they receive relief from surgery initially, only to find a year or two later they're hurting again.

Fortunately, it is safe to get chiropractic after surgery. Postsurgical patients do extraordinarily well. Personally I love helping them because their results are so dramatic with the modern methods we utilize. The patients find they can finally get their lives back. They can do things they love like golf, and bowling again.

They feel so good after care at my center they start to think, "Did I even need this surgery? Was I chopped on needlessly?" Many exclaim, "I should have come to you first."

Q. Is chiropractic expensive?
A. Did you know that doctors of chiropractic help twice as many back pain patients as an ordinary doctor at only thirty percent of the cost?

Chiropractic is very cost effective. Dr. Miron Stano, a PHD health care economist professor points out, doctors of chiropractic enjoy 35% less hospital admission rates. Chiropractors cost 42% less for in patient payments. Our patients enjoy 23% less total health care costs.

Q. If I have thin bones or "osteoporosis", can I still see a chiropractor?
A. Yes, it's that gentle. At my office we use a very safe system of putting the bones back in place, called the Impulse technique. It's registered with the F.D.A. and is UL approved. It's so safe, it's suitable for infants and mothers to be.

Q. How would it feel to get a chiropractic adjustment?
A. It feels like a tapping sensation. Often people are surprised how comfortable it is. They'll remark "it didn't hurt at all," or "it felt good."

Q. Do medical doctors and doctors of chiropractic enjoy friendly relationships?
A. At Care Chiropractic we enjoy good relationships with medical doctors. Many of them come to us as patients and refer to us regularly on challenging cases. They understand how gentle, safe and effective modern chiropractic is.

Q. Does insurance cover chiropractic care?
A. We work with all insurance that has chiropractic benefits. My staff is trained to investigate your insurance coverage, just call (303) 394-CARE (2273).

Q. Most of all people wonder about the best way to stop pain permanently.
A. Covering pain with drugs never removes its cause. To fix a problem involves finding out what's wrong and doing something about it.
