Recently, Denver chiropractor, Dr. Visentin received a flattering letter from Channel 7. Here’s what they said:
I’m glad they decided not to make me “Today’s Hero.” I didn’t do anything extraordinary. I didn’t risk my life or spill any blood. In my opinion the media sometimes is over generous with the title “hero”.
Let’s reserve this word for the men and women who deserve it, like the veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. They risked everything, received little back and have suffered real hardship.
We’ve had the honor of serving them at our center and found without exception they rarely complain. They soldier on in spite of significant trauma and hardships. Let’s recognize real heroes every way we can. If you see men and women in uniform at the airport, offer them your support. At least thank them for all they’ve done.
