Bad Reactions to Medicines

According to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), fatal drug reactions to prescription and nonprescription medications now rank among the leading causes of death in the United States today.  The estimated number of complications from pharmaceuticals is over 2 million a year, and the problem is getting worse.  If anything, these adverse drug reactions are under reported.

There are several reasons why we suffer so many drug reactions;

• Clinical trials for drugs do not include children and the elderly who can be much more susceptible to drug complications,
• Poor results of clinical trials are quashed by drug manufacturers,
