Stress in Denver CO

head painHow Does This Happen?

Every change in life, whether its positive or negative acts as a stress on the body. When the change is dramatic or prolonged, it can make you sick.

For example you may lose your job or take on new responsibilities requiring you to work late. You may fall in, or out of, love. You might take up a new sport or travel to a foreign country. Every change requires your body to adapt. When the changes are sudden and drastic, the body chemistry changes. When there’s too much change for a long period of time, you can get very sick.

What Can I Do To Help Myself?

There are lots of things you can do while your body adapts to change. You can laugh, scream, cry, shout, see a funny movie, or exercise. You can call a good friend or seek counsel from a spiritual advisor. You can go for a long drive, meditate, or pray. You may find journaling and hobbies work to relieve your stress, as well.

It’s Still Bothering Me, Now What?

The best way to relieve stress is to take pressure off the nervous system. One of the most common and least recognized causes of stress is when bones lose their proper relationships to one another, creating pressure on the nervous system. This occurs frequently in the spine. Scientists and doctors call this phenomenon “subluxation.” At Care Chiropractic we relieve pressure on the nervous system with gentle “adjustments” to the spine. Often times after an adjustment, people feel more at ease. They describe feeling relaxed, and notice they sleep better, as their bodies start to work normally again.
