Politicians Lie, But Their Body Language Reveals the Truth

Politicians Lie, But Their Body Language Reveals the Truth

campaignDenver, CO: Politicians are notorious liars. How can we possibly discover what they’re really thinking, and decide who to vote for?

Experts in body language feel they have the answer.  After watching a video once, turn off the sound and watch them again.  How they move can be more revealing than what they say.  Candidates today are packaged and sold by experts behind the scenes.  Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton’s appearances may be scripted but their hidden agendas can be revealed by paying attention to their movements.

Hillary

Mrs. Clinton is trying to make herself more likeable.  Watch her in action and you’ll notice she’s smiling and laughing a lot.  She waves to the crowds, reaching out to welcome them into her fold.

During interviews, she knows how to deflect criticism and antagonistic questions.  She sits back and acts impervious to attack.  Sometimes, she uses a low back support cushion in her chair, so she has extra support.  This makes her posture appear more relaxed.

Overall, Hillary’s body language is less expressive than it could be.  At times, she looks less energized and more contained than other candidates.  This contributes to an image that for some lacks authenticity.

Trump

Mr. Trump wishes to portray a candidate who if elected would provide strong leadership.  He has been through training at New York Military Academy and it’s revealed in his posture.  He stands like a general, in spite of being a 70 year old senior.  Rarely, do cameras catch him leaning forward or slouching to rest.  Of course, he’s trying to attract followers through personal strength and conviction.

Trump’s worst body language is his infamous smirk.  His irritating habit of twisting his face into a half smile makes him appear conceited.  Add his double thumbs up and leading the applause for himself and you have a candidate some people love to hate.

Denver chiropractor Steven Visentin is an expert at evaluating and improving posture, as well as a professional public speaker.  He states, “Both candidates are polished communicators.  They’re so good, it’s hard to critique their very unique and polished presentation styles.  It’s obvious they’re aware of what their posture and movements communicate and how to maximize their message.  The debates will be the best time to watch them.   The increased pressure and scrutiny will reveal the best and the worst characteristics of both candidates.  When they’re forced to act more spontaneously, a lot more can and will be revealed.”
